This superman is faster than a speeding e-mail, more powerful than hurricane-force winds and, as this video https://vimeo.com/235176530 shows, able to leap tall buildings. Or maybe even fly? From start to finish, James handled every detail of the condo sale with professionalism and a personal touch. He helped us through a bureaucratic obstacle course and ran interference when necessary. Besides producing a great video, he battened down the hatches when a hurricane approached Cabarete, coordinated communication among several parties in three different time zones and three languages and apparently never or seldom went off duty. I started my search for a place on the North Coast of the DR after consuming one too many episodes of The Caribbean Life on HGTV in the summer of 2017. I was determined to find something but was uneasy about going solo. Luckily I connected with James Oosterman owner of Blue Sail. From being picked up at the POP airport until signing day of the new place took less than 90 days. I told James what I wanted and he went to work. He had a place reserved for me to stay during my initial 3 day visit and a professionally bound dossier of places we were going to see. The Dominican Republic makes it easy to buy and own property without being a citizen. Jenny Famillia our attorney was top notch and provided by James as recommendation for this process. Jenny certainly did not disappoint and took all the anxiety out of the process. You can tell after meeting with James he is not your typical realtor and clearly is not just after quick sales and a commission. I can honestly say after buying my place with James help I count him on my very good friend list. In addition he has all the local contacts to make improvements to your property at the lowest cost and highest quality materials.
In conclusion I have my little slice of paradise right on the ocean thanks to James at Blue Sail. The north coast of the DR is a growing area that is only going to boom in the next 5 years or less.

My wife and I just purchased a beachfront condo in Cabarete, in the Dominican Republic. We live in the US and this is the first property that we have purchased outside the country. We weren’t sure what to expect, but we absolutely didn’t think that it would be this easy. We have to say that the entire process was smooth and painless from the very beginning and it is all thanks to James and Jenny! They were awesome from start to finish! Amazing! We can’t say enough good about James. He has gone above and beyond all through the process. We came to the Dominican Republic for a one day visit on a cruise ship. We were only going to be in port for about 8 hours, so we were a bit worried about being able to get this done. We had contacted James at Blue Sail Realty before we visited to see if it might be possible to look at some condos while we were in town. We are so glad that we did! We would highly recommend Blue Sail Realty and especially James to anyone looking for a property in the Dominican Republic. James was so professional and very accommodating. He picked us up at the cruise port in Amber Cove and brought us to Sosua and Cabrete to look at condos. He met us with a nice booklet of condos that he put together for us. He felt like a friend from the beginning. He was very respectful about our time and made sure that he got us back to the port in plenty of time to get back to our ship. After we looked at the properties, he was able to get us setup with his attorney, Jenny. She was very helpful in guiding us through the legalities and made things simple. During this time, James sent us many videos and pictures to help us solidify which property that we wanted to purchase. Just watching his videos, you can see his great attention to detail and his professionalism! Now that we have the purchase done, James is helping us to get some remodeling done. Again, he has gone above and beyond even after the purchase. He is helping to get us the right people to do the work and even helping us to pick out new furniture! We just wanted to ‘Thank you so much, James!’. Every time that we talk to him, we feel more like we are talking to a friend! We are planning for a visit back to the Dominican Republic in December and we look forward to seeing James and being able to ‘Thank’ him again in person!
